Walvis Bay, Namibia

We came to Walvis Bay April 9th.

It were tours from the ship going to the desert, and those who went there had a great time. The Namib is one of the oldest deserts in the world, and home to the world`s highest shifting sand dunes. We later heard that to rent 4x4 and drive into the desert was a fun experience, but nothing we would do with the kids. We therefore spent the day in the “city”.

The shuttle took us to an area with very few shops, so we walked and walked, and then we saw the ship again. Thinking that since we were already there we might as well just go back. That was not as easy as we imagined, and a nice woman stopped her car, insisting that we had to come with her because of the heat, and she then took us to the gate of the port. Only problem here, was that then we arrived at the wrong side, so we had to walk  for a while between before we reached the ship. At this point Daniel had the camera, and he was more excited than the rest of us as he finally got to have some interesting views. The following pictures are taken by Daniel:
