We arrived at March 23rd.
Music was welcoming us, and since we were out a few hours before the
shuttle bus was ready, we decided to start walking.
Once we were out from the port area there were “a million” Tuk Tuk`s
We hesitated for some time to enter the Tuk Tuk`s, so we walked and
walked in the heat
We visited a church (St. Anthony`s shrine)
Anna bought new shoes for 5 USD
And eventually we entered a Tuk Tuk and went to the same place as the
shuttle bus would take us (or so we thought..). When we found out that we been
to the wrong place, we had another tour with the Tuk Tuk`s.
I can`t say it felt safe to sit in these vehicles, but since there are
no doors, we got natural air condition,
so at least we got a break from the heat.
We got to see more developed
areas
Different use of umbrellas than I grew up with…
On the way back to the ship the bus passed what seems to be a nice
beach. It was a Sunday so lots of people were out playing with their kites
All in all we should have seen more, and done more, as I`m sure Colombo
have by far more to offer than we managed to find at an average Sunday.
Next port Mauritius.
