This is the
zoo that Steve Irving has made world famous by his close contact with the
animals. He is no longer alive, but the zoo is, and now others are giving the
shows…
I wonder
what kind of people who decide to dedicate their lives to become a crocodile
trainer. Did they wake up one morning asking them self should I become a nurse,
or should I risk my life on a daily basis by teaching crocodiles….Anyway, not
for me, but Adam and Anna where allowed to
touch a mini alligator. (Very happy it is mini, and that Helene is helping).
At the zoo
it was lots of animals to see, and a great bird show. The turtles were giant
(look at the fence and the people on the other side of it, and it will give you
an idea about the proportions)
Cute
kangaroos eating from the hand..
As they
left the park they were offered to have their picture taken either with this
An
alligator, or
I really
agree in your choice Ingvill. Amazing! After the zoo, they went to the wildlife
hospital, who treat wild animals and
place them back in nature again.
This
hospital rescue around 20 000 animals a year. Mostly koalas who are being
hit by cars or injured in swimming pools. This koala has just went through a
surgery. Hopefully he will be healthy and back in nature soon.
We all had
a very interesting day, even though none of us really got the time to look
around in Brisbane. But hopefully another time…
Next stop
Whitsunday Islands, February 20.
