February 12,
we did our last stop in New Zealand, to Bay of Islands. It`s quite small place,
living from tourism because of their beautiful scenic views.
We left the
ship on a faster boat this time.
Then a
shuttle bus took us through golf courts, and eventually till the center. It was arranged a market day, since the ship
were there. Really nice, but most of the passengers headed towards the
library`s garden since that`s where the Wi Fi is…
What is the
best a quickest way to enjoy a place with a 144 islands and beautiful beaches?
You go up in the air
So much
fun!
We went to
the “The hole in the rock” , or Motukako who is the original Maori name for it.
Motu means island, and Kokako is the name of a bird, who`s feathers were
important for the Maori tribe in their rituals, so young male warriors would
journey to the island and climb the steep cliff to gather feathers from the
Kokako.
Beautiful
day, and then back to the ship heading towards Sidney, Australia.
