Nha Trang

Our next stop in Vietnam was March 12 in Nha Trang, and finally we had some sun again, because of the cable car we had to use tender boats to go ashore.

The beaches seem to be beautiful, but we were more curious about seeing the city. It lives around 340.000 people here, still the town is small. During the war, Nha Trang was one of the 10 major air bases operated by the United States Air Force. Today Nha Trang is rapidly developing into a major beach resort and it is planned high speed rail link with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). (According to the information we were given on board the ship).

After a short ride with the shuttle bus, we were ready to explore the city. The first we saw was a cute monkey, but it`s sad to see it chained.

It was a very warm day, and we mostly just walked around.

We stopped for some refreshments

And also here it was like the other places in Asia, we take pictures of the locals, and they take pictures of the kids..

The people we met, didn`t really speak English, so we didn`t really have any conversation except agreeing on prices for drinks, and smiles. We paid 1 USD for a can of coca cola, and that was probably “tourist price” but still very cheap for us.

We bought some shoes and clothes (small sizes, but also mini prices).

We and the rest of the ship tried to log on to internet at this hotel, and of course that didn`t work..

After a great day in the sun, we went back to the port, and the market there. I`m sure I have gained weight from all the good food that I`m eating, but Rafael can still lift me, so it really doesn`t matter.

Adam was very determined to get back on the ship

Our next stop is Phu My, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
